What is Marijuana?

Marijuana is a product of the hemp plant, Cannabis sativa. It is the most often used illegal drug in the USA. THC is the active ingredient in marijuana and it is the chemical which affects the brain the most. Nicknames for marijuana include weed, ganga, grass, green, tree, bud, hash, herb, and Mary Jane. Marijuana is smoked but it can also be mixed into teas. Short term effects of marijuana consumption include distortion in perception, issues with thinking and problem solving, dry mouth, and increased heart rate. Although marijuana has been approved for medical use in some states, it is still illegal in many others.

Marijuana Detox Center

Clients in the marijuana detox program do not require medical detox. However, some clients may experience unpleasant withdrawal symptoms including insomnia or anxiety. Doctors and nurses are on-site around the clock to monitor all clients and doctors may prescribe medications to ease any withdrawal symptoms. Marijuana detox takes approximately 7 to 10 days, although THC may show up in the blood stream for months after prolonged consumption. Clients are allowed to bring their cell phones, lap tops, and any other electronic devices they may desire to our center. We have a beautiful patio area outside for our guests to enjoy while they detox in beautiful and comfortable surroundings. We offer both single and semi-private rooms and clients can customize their meal plans with the chef. Whether your diet is vegan, vegetarian, Kosher, or gluten-free, our chef can handle all of our clients’ dietary needs. In addition to a custom meal plan, clients can also choose from our exclusive line of IV vitamins and nutritional supplements to strengthen their minds and bodies while they recover.

All clients are able to participate in our many holistic treatments that we offer. These include:

  • Aromatherapy – Clients will delight in the amazing smells of the essential oil as part of our aromatherapy program. These oils can help improve mood, cognitive functioning, and overall health.
  • Acupuncture – This traditional Chinese medicine will help stimulate certain points on the body through the penetration of the skin with either a small needle or laser.
  • Meditation – Clients will be able to calm their minds and naturally treat some of their withdrawal symptoms, such as depression or anxiety. Meditation also helps to train the mind and induce increased mental clarity.
  • Massage therapy – Licensed massage therapists will be available to give massages to all clients in the detox program. Massage helps to stimulate different muscles and connective tissues in the body which promotes an overall sense of well-being.
  • Yoga – Originally from ancient India, the practice of yoga is popular worldwide. Yoga will help clients to find inner peace while strengthening their mind or body.
