What is Methadone?

Methadone is a substitute drug used to treat people who suffer from a heroin or opiate addiction. Many of our clients have successfully used methadone to quit heroin. The next step is a detox program which will help them stop methadone. Withdrawal symptoms can be very severe and even life-threatening. In fact, most treatment centers will not even attempt a high dose methadone withdrawal. However, at our center we can handle all clients who require methadone withdrawal.

Methadone Detox

At the Drug Detox, we never shy away from helping any of our clients with their addictions. Clients with a methadone addiction will be required to complete traditional medical detox. During the detox process, clients are monitored by a team of doctors and nurses who will ensure they are relaxed and comfortable. Doctors will prescribe any necessary medications to help keep clients safe during the entire process. Methadone detox is longer than most, and usually will take up to a month to complete. At our center, we truly understand drug addiction and drug dependency. Methadone is a great tool for successfully weaning people off of heroin. However, some clients (after consulting their doctor) may decide it’s time to leave methadone behind. Let us help you detox safely!

During detox, clients can choose to explore our grounds or relax in their beautifully appointed private or semi-private bedrooms with attached bathrooms. We allow cell phones, laptops, and other electronic devices, which makes us unique from most detox centers. We employ a chef who is able to customize any meal plans to fit the specific needs and concerns of the client. We offer a full line of exclusive IV vitamins, tablets, and nutritional supplements. These dietary aids will complement each client’s individualized meal plan. Although clients in the methadone detox program are required to complete traditional medically-supervised detox, they are also able to participate in the many holistic treatments that we offer.

These treatments include:

Acupuncture – This traditional Chinese medicine uses needles and laser-point to arouse different parts of the body. This will stimulate the flow of “qi” throughout the body.

Massage therapy – We employ only licensed and experienced massage therapists who are skilled in a variety of different massage therapy techniques.

Yoga – Originally from ancient India, the practice of yoga teaches you to look inside yourself for permanent peace and happiness. Plus, yoga is a great exercise.

Aromatherapy – We use essential oils which may promote health, overall well-being, and increase cognitive functioning. Essential oils, like lavender, may even induce feelings of relaxation.

Meditation – This practice is very beneficial! Meditation teaches you to be well-balanced and to focus on long-term goals, like sobriety and recovery.
