What is Opium?

Opium is a narcotic made from the liquid of the poppy plant. Slang terms for opium include big O, black stuff, and block. Opium is usually smoked and it provides the user with a euphoric high. It also makes the user feel sedated, sleepy, and relaxed. Other potential side effects include nausea, confusion, vomiting, and depressed breathing. Opium is highly addictive and users may quickly become dependent on the drug, leading to more frequent abuse.

Opium Detox Facility

Clients in our opium detox program are required to complete supervised medical detox. The cleansing process lasts 7 to 10 days and clients are monitored 24/7 by our quality team of doctors and nurses. Doctors will also prescribe necessary medication to ensure the safety of clients during detox. Sudden withdrawal from opium may result in severe symptoms; we never recommend at-home detox from opium for this reason. We offer private and semi-private bedrooms for each client and our grounds are both beautiful and serene. At our center, we allow cell phones, laptops, iPods, and other electronic devices. We understand that our clients are busy people. By allowing electronic communication devices, we are minimizing the disruption that detox can cause. We also employ a chef who will customize meal plans to fit clients’ dietary needs and concerns. We offer an exclusive line of IV vitamins and nutritional supplements, to aid each client’s diet. At our detox center, we truly understand drug abuse and addiction. Many members of our staff have been in your shoes, inching towards recovery one day at a time. This unique approach to detox leads to a higher recovery success rate, because you will always have someone whom you can relate to during the detox process. We have many holistic treatments for our clients who wish to try an alternative approach to detox. Clients in opium detox are required to complete a traditional medical detox; however they can also take advantage of our other holistic treatments too.

These treatments include:

  • Acupuncture – We offer laser-point and needle acupuncture to stimulate different parts of the body. This practice comes from China, but its benefits are clearly seen by our clients.
  • Massage therapy – We employ only licensed massage therapy professionals who are experienced with many different massage therapy techniques.
  • Aromatherapy – Essential oils can improve mood, brain functioning, and even boost your health.
