What is OxyContin?

OxyContin is the brand name for oxycodone hydrochloride. It’s an opioid derived from the opium poppy plant. OxyContin is prescribed to treat pain over an extended period of time; however some people take OxyContin illicitly because it makes them feel euphoric. Other effects of OxyContin include nausea, sedation, dizziness, and mood changes. OxyContin is typically swallowed in pill form, but it can also be crushed and snorted.

OxyContin Detox

Clients in the OxyContin detox program are required to complete traditional medical detox. During this process, doctors and nurses monitor each client around the clock to ensure they are safe and healthy. Doctors may also prescribe necessary medications so clients won’t have to suffer through unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. OxyContin is a powerful prescription drug that causes chemical dependency. For that reason, we never recommend at-home detox. Let us help you recover from your OxyContin addiction in a beautiful and peaceful environment. We offer both private and semi-private rooms. We employ a talented chef who will work to meet each client’s dietary needs and concerns. We also offer an exclusive line of IV vitamins, tablets, and nutritional supplements to complement our clients’ diets. We allow our clients to bring their cell phones, laptops, iPods, and other electronic devices. We believe that this minimizes the disruption that detox can cause in the clients’ lives. We want to make detox as easy and comfortable as possible. Most of our addiction counselors are in recovery, so they know what you are going through. At our center, you will always have someone to talk to who truly understands. We offer a variety of holistic treatments for those who wish to try a different approach to detox.

Clients in our OxyContin detox program are required to complete medical detox; however they can also try any of the holistic treatments that we offer. These include:

  • Acupuncture – This traditional Chinese practice uses needles to excite certain parts of the body. We also offer laser-point acupuncture for clients who are adverse to needles.
  • Massage therapy – Everyone loves a relaxing massage! We employ licensed massage therapists who are experienced in many different massage therapy techniques. Deep tissue, hot stone, or shiatsu – we have you covered.
  • Aromatherapy – Essential oils can cause you to feel more relaxed, balanced, and energized. We commonly use lavender, to help relieve any anxiety our clients are feeling.
  • Yoga – Originally from ancient India, the practice of yoga is becoming increasingly popular. Yoga helps our clients to feel centered and allows them to focus on their goal – recovery and sobriety.
  • Meditation – One of the easiest ways to relax, meditation teaches you to look inside yourself for happiness. Meditation also helps our clients to refocus and it promotes a sense of overall well-being.
